At Harleston Sancroft Academy, we believe in nurturing the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. Our Chaplaincy is the heartbeat of this mission, offering a safe, inclusive, and supportive space for students of all faiths and none, to explore life’s big questions, find comfort, and build resilience.
Meet Our School Chaplain: Elaine Baker-Ingle
We are absolutely delighted to introduce our new School Chaplain, Elaine.
Elaine joins our academy community with a wealth of experience, a listening ear, and a passion for supporting young people. Whether you are navigating a difficult day, or just need a quiet space to chat and reflect, Elaine is here for you. Here is a welcome note from Elaine:

Hi! I’m delighted to be working for Youth For Christ, as new Lead Chaplain in Harleston Sancroft Academy. I lead up a team of chaplaincy volunteers who get involved with various things in
school, including collective worship, our More2Life lunchtime club (every Thursday),
1-to-1 mentoring with students and praying for our students, staff and families. I’m available to be a friendly face and a listening ear. Before working here, I was working with schools and colleges as part of the Outreach Team at the University of East Anglia, and prior to that, I was a secondary teacher and creative writing workshop leader and mentor. I have had lots of other jobs, working with young people, so please come and ask me about that sometime. You can find me in the Link Chaplaincy room in school, or drop me an email at:elaine@integrateyfc.org.uk
I look forward to meeting you soon.
Partnering with Integrate Youth for Christ
1. Mentoring Services
Life as a teenager comes with its unique set of challenges. Through Integrate Youth for Christ, we provide targeted, one-on-one mentoring services.

- What it is: A consistent, supportive relationship with a trained mentor.
- How it helps: Mentors work closely with students to help them build self-esteem, manage anxiety, set positive goals, and navigate the ups and downs of school life.
2. The ‘More to Life’ Club
Looking for a place to unwind, make friends, and explore new perspectives? The ‘More to Life’ Club is a vibrant, weekly lunchtime space run in partnership with the Youth for Christ team.
- What we do: We unpack big topics, play games, eat snacks, and chat about the things that truly matter to young people today.
- Who it’s for: Absolutely everyone! It’s a space designed to help students discover that there is always “more to life” than just the daily routine.
