Curriculum intent
In Art, we believe that throughout KS3 and KS4 it is crucial to develop the knowledge, skills and techniques necessary to work independently as well as in creative teams. It is acknowledged that our skills and techniques form the foundation of artistic creative expression and endeavour.
Pupils are given regular opportunities to share their own arts experiences with others. We believe all pupils should have:
- an opportunity to exhibit work at least once a year in KS4
- the opportunity to take part in at least one weekly out-of-hours arts activity
- present artwork to parents and the community at least once a year
Give pupils the opportunities to have an understanding of the arts in society and the career paths it offers.
- offer pupils an opportunity to work alongside professional artists.
- offer pupils opportunities to carry out work experience in arts organisations and creative industries.
