Key Information

The ‘A’ Game

The school has high expectations for attendance and a school target of 96%.
Term time holidays will not be authorised.

The school has a uniform for all students and expects them to be correctly dressed at all times.

Hair is to be one natural colour and be of conventional style and cut. Extreme styles, including shaved, coloured (bold and not of standard colouring – brown, blonde, black, red) or styles with wedges or razored lines are not permitted in school. A fade haircut is acceptable but a number one clipper grade all over the head is not permitted

The wearing of discrete make-up is permitted. However, eyeliner, lipstick and heavy makeup is not. Students in Years 10 and 11 are permitted to wear nail varnish or gel polish. Nails should reflect appropriate business dress and should be subtle in colour. Nail extensions are not permitted.

Students are permitted to wear one small plain stud earring per ear. No hoops or large ‘diamond’ studs of any sort are permitted. It is recommended that students wear a watch.

Body piercings (other than earrings outlined above) are not allowed and students will be asked to remove it/them.

Attitude to Learning

Students are expected to show a positive approach to learning at all times. If students do not conform with the school ATL policy then appropriate actions will be taken.

We want to promote an environment where students aspire to be successful and are accountable for their actions and learning. Students will be supported to become independent learners and will be provided with Careers, Information, Advice and Guidance (CIAG) throughout their school life.

Student progress and attainment will be tracked carefully throughout their time at The Harleston Sancroft Academy and we want students, parents and staff to strive for the best results possible.

I feel valued as a member of staff. I like the fact the school has a clear vision, a vision that I feel a part of.

Every single person who works at the school contributes to who I am. It truly is a special place where we are all one big family.
