Curriculum intent
At Sancroft, young people are encouraged to live life in all its fullness; through developing physical literacy, confidence, resilience, and enjoyment in Physical Education. This will be achieved through the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum, which supports, challenges, and inspires all young people to achieve their personal best through outstanding relationships, resulting in a lifelong love of physical activity.
As a PE department, we recognise the important role that involvement in physical activity and sport can have on a young person’s personal development and sense of belonging, both in the school community and wider society.
In Core PE, our passion is for young people to experience enjoyment, engagement, success and develop their knowledge and understanding in a range of activities. For those that wish to develop their theoretical and practical knowledge, there is the opportunity to study the subject in greater depth. This provides a platform for the study of academic fields and careers linked to Physical Education.
Our rigorous programme of extracurricular activities provides opportunities and experiences to enrich the lives of our young people and help them live life in all its fullness.
